PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Challenge:
As an avid aviation enthusiast, one of the areas that peaked my interest in the industry is airline branding. Being part of a fast-paced and highly competitive industry, airlines need to create identities that are eyecatching, transcend normality and all in all, unique — in order to stand out from the crowded commercial aviation market.
One of my aspiration as a visual designer is to one day be able to work with an airline to create their brand identity as I felt that such a project is not only challenging, but exciting. This triggered me to ask the question: "what if I created a self-initiated airline branding project on my own?"
The Solution:
EuroJet Airways is a fictional European low-cost airline based at the London Luton Airport.
As part of the project, I tasked myself to conceptualise and create the logo design and visual identity for the airline. The brand image and identity design revolve around an ultra-minimalist aesthetic to emphasise the no-frills aspect of the low-cost / budget airline. Modern and toned-down colours were utilised to evoke a sense of trust, familiarity, and confidence, allowing the airline to appeal to both leisure and business travellers.
